On October 21, CYRENZH members Melanie Knieps and Ariane Trammel had the privilege of giving a Digital Masterclass on cybersecurity for the Zurich Cantonal Council.
In their presentation, they emphasized that cybersecurity is a team effort. By incorporating expert knowledge and facts, we can carefully weigh opportunities and risks. Just as our health is not solely in the hands of doctors, cybersecurity relies on the consistent “care” of each person. It’s up to everyone to stay informed and make conscious decisions about the risks they are willing to take and how often. Only when we actively take responsibility for our role in cybersecurity can we truly become resilient and capable of taking appropriate action.
Initiatives like the “Digital MasterClass for the Zurich Cantonal Council” are therefore highly relevant for fostering lively, interdisciplinary exchange. As a network for cyber resilience in the Canton of Zurich, we were delighted to contribute to this effort.
The Digital Society Initiative organizes this program together with the Parliamentary Group on Digitalization of the Zurich Cantonal Council. Its goal is to provide council members with technical and legal knowledge, enabling them to form a competent and independent perspective on upcoming decisions.
